Brunel invests in laser engraving system

July 25, 2017
Brunel Engraving Company, which supplies the automotive industry, has invested in an Epilog G2 Galvo laser engraving system.

Industrial engraving specialist Brunel Engraving Company (Clevedon, Somerset, England), which supplies custom plates, panels, and other engraving products to the automotive industry, has invested in an Epilog G2 Galvo laser engraving system. The system will enable the company to engrave on most metal and plastic components.

Manufactured by Epilog Laser (Golden, CO), the Epilog G2 Galvo system was installed at Brunel's headquarters by Epilog Laser's UK distributor, CSI Manufacturing (also in Clevedon), on June 5, 2017.

The laser system can laser-mark over a large work area without compromising engraving quality or requiring product indexing. It features an air-cooled, pulsed fiber laser that engraves at fast speeds over an adjustable engraving area, spanning up to 609 × 609mm. It can mark and deep-engrave at high speed directly onto most metals and industrial plastics without the need for any pre- or post-treatments. There is no contact between the laser and the component, eliminating clamping marks.
