Prescient, whose solutions include laser cutting for the construction industry, is moving its headquarters to Durham, NC.

Prescient, whose manufacturing solutions include laser cutting for the construction industry, is moving the company's headquarters from Arvada, CO, to Durham, NC, as well as opening a second manufacturing facility in nearby Mebane, NC.

The North Carolina facility will serve clients east of the Mississippi River, while the Colorado facility will continue to serve clients in the western US. The company hosted a grand opening for the new Mebane facility on July 12, 2017.

The company's Mebane plant began production in May 2017, and expects to eventually employ more than 200 designers, architects, project managers, installers, and other employees. The facility doubles the company's total annual capacity to nearly 11 million sq. ft.

The headquarters move marks an important milestone for the company, signaling its commitment to future investment and growth throughout the US. This also allows the company to bring design, manufacturing, and other business operations to the North Carolina Commerce Park, a 1200-acre business property developed collaboratively by Alamance County with the towns of Graham and Mebane.

The company, which serves the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, has doubled its revenue each year since 2013, according to Satyen Patel, chairman and former CEO of Prescient.

It has projects completed or underway throughout the country in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas. The first project coming out of the new Mebane facility will be Northgate, a student housing facility in College Station, TX. The 177,267-sq-ft. dormitory will consist of eight total levels, five of Prescient structure.
