Hexadrone's (Saint-Just-Malmont, France) fully modular and easy-to-use Tundra-M drone for industrial and multi-purpose tasks has won the Red Dot Award 2018 in the drone category. The evaluation process (static test and assess) was performed on the 3D-printed prototype manufactured by CRP Technology (Modena, Italy) using laser sintering technology with Windform SP and XT 2.0 Carbon-composite materials.

The award ceremony took place in Essen, Germany on July 9, 2018, during the Red Dot Gala. There will be a four-week exhibition of the Tundra-M at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, where a 3D-printed Tundra-M drone in Windform, designed by industrial designer Raphael Chèze, will be exhibited.

The judging criteria were strict, including level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, and durability. The roughly 40 jurors then complemented with their own expertise. The panel of experts awarded the internationally recognized seal of quality only to products that have won them.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design has roots dating back as far as 1955 and determines the best products created each year. In 2018, designers and manufacturers from 59 countries submitted more than 6300 objects to the competition. The jury assessed the products individually based on the original.
