Bystronic intros extra-large format fiber laser cutting machine models

Aug. 19, 2019
The ByStar Fiber 6225 and 8025 extra-large format fiber laser cutting systems can accommodate sheet metal up to 6.2 × 2.5 m and 8 × 2.5 m, respectively.

The ByStar Fiber 6225 and 8025 extra-large format fiber laser cutting systems from Bystronic (Niederönz, Switzerland) can accommodate sheet metal up to 6.2 × 2.5 m and 8 × 2.5 m, respectively. They are available with a choice of laser source from 3 to 10 kW to suit particular productivity requirements and the types and thicknesses of material to be processed.

Large metal sheets allow bigger parts or a more diverse range of smaller parts to be cut without interrupting the cutting cycle, and enable more efficient nesting and reduce the amount of metal left in the skeleton at the end of the program. With the company's BySoft 7 software, the fiber laser cutting machines support smart nesting procedures that enable optimal cutting plans to be created for large formats.

As an alternative to positioning one extra-large sheet on the cutting table, it is possible to process several smaller sheets in one operation by placing them side by side. This allows the systems to operate for longer in an uninterrupted cutting cycle, reducing nonproductive times.
