GE Additive unveils new facility in Germany

Sept. 17, 2019
Officially known as GE Additive Lichtenfels, the site will become the new home for the GE Additive Concept Laser teams.

On September 13, 2019, additive manufacturing services provider GE Additive (Munich, Germany) inaugurated its new campus in Lichtenfels, Germany. Officially known as GE Additive Lichtenfels, the 40,000 m2 site will become the new home for the GE Additive Concept Laser teams.

The opening ceremony in Lichtenfels was officiated by Bavarian Minister of Sciences Bernd Sibler and attended by local politicians and business partners.

GE Additive continues to invest in its manufacturing facilities in Europe and North America, to meet increasing demand for its technologies as more customers shift to serial additive manufacturing production. In addition to GE Additive Lichtenfels, the company recently opened a new facility in Gothenburg, Sweden as a center of excellence for its Arcam EBM products.
