United Performance Metals installs new 8 kW fiber laser

The company now operates four laser cutting machines in its Ohio Laser Center of Excellence.

United Performance Metals (UPM; Cincinnati, OH), an O’Neal Industries (Birmingham, AL) affiliate company, has installed a new 8 kW fiber laser in its Cincinnati headquarters.

“We have listened to our customers and responded to their needs through our increased capacity and upgraded technology year over year. In addition to the new 8 kW fiber laser, we have invested in post laser processing and measuring equipment to more efficiently provide our customers precision laser-cut parts,” says James Johnson, Director of Operations at UPM. 

UPM now operates four laser cutting machines in its Ohio Laser Center of Excellencetwo fiber lasers and two CO2 lasers. The company also offers three automatic deburr units, a parts flattening unit, and a complete finishing cell along with the latest technology in nesting software, Virtek reverse engineering, and a Fara CMM and Visual Measuring Machine (VMM).
