TRUMPF and SPI Lasers join forces

July 28, 2020
The two companies will combine business operations to bring advantages in industrial applications via disk and fiber technology to enhance customer service offerings.

TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH (Ditzingen, Germany) and SPI Lasers UK Ltd. (Southampton, England), both wholly owned subsidiaries of the TRUMPF Group, will combine business operations to bring advantages in industrial applications via disk and fiber technology to enhance customer service offerings. SPI Lasers products are now available via the TRUMPF sales channels.

A wholly owned subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group since 2008, SPI Lasers quickly established themselves within the group as experts in the field of fiber laser design and manufacturing. With fiber lasers becoming important laser sources for material processing, both companies agree that joining forces and integrating SPI Lasers into TRUMPF is a sensible move and, more importantly, one that will be extremely beneficial for its customers.

TRUMPF, a manufacturer of machine tools used in flexible sheet metal processing and also industrial lasers with sales of 3.8 billion euros, has about 14,500 employees. The TRUMPF Group is represented in nearly all the countries of Europe, North and South America, and Asia. It has production facilities in Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, the U.S., Mexico, China, and Japan.

SPI Lasers is a manufacturer of fiber lasers for use in materials processing applications in a wide range of industries. It has its major business operations, including research and development, and manufacturing, in the United Kingdom, with additional sales and customer support locations in Asia and North America.
