A fully automated work cell is optimized to repair up to 85,000 titanium aviation compressor blades per year. It consists of three stations that enable robotic blade tip grinding, 3D additive laser cladding, and robotic post-clad finishing. It uses an Optomec CS-250 5-axis laser cladding machine with the company’s LENS directed energy deposition (DED) technology.
