Short-pulse laser diode from FLIR Systems is based on VCSEL technology

July 9, 2015
The VPOWR high-power, short-pulse laser diode has electronics designed for applications such as lidar.

The VPOWR high-power, short-pulse laser diode has electronics designed for applications such as light detection and ranging (lidar), gesture recognition, and 3D sensing. Based on proprietary vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) technology, it provides 50 W peak power from 10 to 50 ns out of a single-aperture VCSEL at 940 nm.
