Cree, Inc. has introduced the XBright 505nm and 525nm green light-emitting diode (LED) devices. These devices complement the previously introduced XBright 470nm blue LED and further expand the XBright family of products. The XBright 505nm part exhibits typical brightness of 11mW while the 525nm part is rated at 9mW.
Target applications for these devices include full color indoor and outdoor displays, advertising panels, traffic signals, and consumer products. Customer qualification samples and volume production are now available.
Chuck Swoboda, President and CEO said, "With the introduction of the newest XBright green products, the company now offers what we believe is the highest brightness and broadest range of nitride-based LED chip solutions to meet the multiple requirements of the marketplace. We plan to make continued improvements in our chip performance as we invest in advancing our technology."
