Laser Quantum to showcase 1 GHz spaced frequency comb at SPIE Photonics West 2016

Jan. 22, 2016
The taccor comb 1 GHz frequency comb comprises a 1 GHz Ti:sapphire laser, a matched dispersion compensation module, supercontinuum generation, and an ultra-stable f/2f interferometer.

The taccor comb 1 GHz frequency comb comprises a 1 GHz Ti:sapphire laser, a matched dispersion compensation module, supercontinuum generation, and an ultra-stable f/2f interferometer. In partnership with Menlo Systems, the comb is fully stabilized using XPS800-E feedback loop electronics, and provides an electrical output signal at the carrier-envelope offset (CEO) frequency with at least 40 dB signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio in 300 kHz bandwidth. A high repetition rate enables generation of significantly more supercontinuum average power and leads to a significantly more enhanced SNR for heterodyne beat measurements or direct frequency-comb spectroscopy applications.
