Altechna separates R&D department into independent legal entity

Vilnius, Lithuania--Seeking to establish an independent company for commercialization of in-house developments utilizing its own and partners' intellectual property, laser technology company Altechna Co. Ltd. has separated its R&D department into an independent legal entity.

Vilnius, Lithuania--Seeking to establish an independent company for commercialization of in-house developments utilizing its own and partners' intellectual property, laser technology company Altechna Co. Ltd. has separated its R&D department into an independent legal entity. Operating under the trademark Workshop of Photonics, the new entity's legal name is Altechna R&D Ltd. to show relation to the parent company.

Established areas for the company include femtosecond laser micromachining; tools and parts for laser machining systems; DPSS microlasers and control electronics; and laser system control software. But within the next year, the company intends to launch a 589 nm laser, several solutions for laser control electronics, and new releases of 3D laser system control/automation software packages.
