Binghamton, NY, April 2, 2003. Boston Laser has organized a group of European investors for acquisition (by a separate holding company) of all assets of Semiconductor Laser International (SLI). The US Federal Court approved the sale on March 17. This acquisition falls well within the strategic goals of Boston Laser of increasing sales and completing its vertical integration by having its own wafer manufacturing facility.

Combining the two operations doubles the sales Boston Laser had alone. The MBE crystal growing facility provides short response time for growing Aluminum free and other wafers. The Boston operations have been moved to Binghamton, NY.

Boston Laser employs most of the SLI technical staff already since March 4. Among other engineers and technicians, senior staff includes:

* Kelly Crampton, Director of Sales and Marketing
* Dr. Yungeng Gao, Senior Scientist
* Dr. Jiang Li, Senior Scientist.
* Yvonne Curtis, Financial Manager.

All senior technical staff from Boston has moved to Binghamton. Boston Laser now includes 8 PhDs.

In addition to single emitter, multi mode high power, high brightness semiconductor laser in wavelengths from 635 to 1600 nm, we now have new capabilities:

* Single Mode Semiconductor Lasers
* Fiber Coupled Multi- and Single Mode Semiconductor Laser, and
* Semiconductor Laser Bars, Arrays and Stacks.

Boston Laser, an ISO 9000 company, will continue to maintain its quality of products and services to its well-established and new customers. It will attempt to work in concert with its community of customers, employees, investors and vendors.
