PRESS RELEASE

Modulight launches 1W RGB LimeLight laser modules with the smallest form factor in the industry

Tampere, Finland - Modulight, Inc., an ISO13485:2003 certified laser manufacturer based in Tampere, Finland and San Jose, CA,announced today the release of their renewed LimeLight laser systems offering the smallest form factor RGB laser solution in the industry. The systems produce 1W output power at 635nm, 532nm and 465nm from only 3"x3" footprint. While the well-known Modulight LimeLight platform has been cut to half in volume, it houses even more functionalities and offers unbeaten spread of wavelength from visible 465nm to NIR 1550nm and optical output power from 500mW to 30W.

Modulight's LimeLight laser system platform is a perfect solution for laser systems integrators in a number of applications from life science to display and laser projection. With its simple standard interfaces and integrated control and cooling solutions it offers a very low integration cost and easy use. The standard LimeLight systems come with an SMA-905 receptacle fiber output, integrated driver, and cooling controller and a smart on/off switch.

The modules support both CW and pulsed operation and can be controlled through an 10-pin connector port by a standard PC user interface or by an analog/digital control signal directly. The LimeLight platform also supports many safety features required in medical field, like pilot beam, fiber interlock, and safety switch. The LimeLight products are manufactured in Modulight's ISO13485 certified manufacturing facility. The Module dimensions are 80x80x40 mm. "We have years of experience on offering OEM sub-system solutions to the first tier systems integrators in the industry and we know what it takes to make solutions that work reliably and at the same time are easy to use. While the laser diode component offering has generally improved a lot during the past years, the challenge still remains in huge spread of package variants and the operation parameters required between different wavelengths and power levels. We decided to fix that with our LimeLight platform that offers simple unified interfaces for any systems integration despite the varying device technologies and used package form factors. That combined with our internal laser chip technology allows us to offer the most cost efficient OEM laser modules in the industry with a unique wavelength spread and output power. The released 3x 1W LimeLights demonstrate nicely the advantages we can offer. You simply can't find anything like that from the open market!" says Mr. Sampsa Kuusiluoma, the New Product Introduction Manager at Modulight.

Modulight, Inc. provides laser solutions to medical, display, projection, industrial, space, and defense industries. Modulight products include various types of lasers from visible to infrared wavelengths with output power levels from milliwats to hundreds of watts. Modulight provides also laser solutions from design and manufacturing of laser diodes to OEM-based optical sub-systems and turnkey laser systems. Modulight owns and operates an ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO13485 certified semiconductor fab in Tampere, Finland and has fully owned subsidiary Modulight USA located in San Jose, California.
