Mode controller from Arden Photonics controls LED or VCSEL light

May 27, 2014
The ModCon mode controller can be used to modify an LED or VCSEL light source to provide repeatable EF-compliant launch conditions.

The ModCon mode controller can be used to modify an LED or VCSEL light source to provide repeatable EF-compliant launch conditions. Measurements of loss and bandwidth in multimode fibers depend on the modal condition of the light source used. Plugging this into a light source provides stable and consistent output that meets IEC 62180-4-1.
