October 29, 2007, San Diego, CA--Cymer, leading supplier of excimer laser light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing, says its 12-acre global headquarters in Rancho Bernardo, CA--a San Diego community severely damaged by last week's wildfires--has survived the destruction unharmed.
The company, which employs more than 700 people in San Diego, estimates a small percentage of its employees lost their homes to the fires and will be offering corporate housing for those affected.
"These past few days have been a nightmare for thousands of San Diegans, including Cymer employees, friends and loved ones," said Edward Brown, president and chief operating officer for Cymer. "Cymer has always prided itself on being both a technology and community leader. Now, in the midst of such devastation, Cymer is investigating the best ways possible to aid fire-displaced victims, both now and in the months to come."
Cymer was up and running at normal speed on Friday, Oct. 26. For more information about the company's plan to assist the community, please contact Kelly Hamor at 619.234.0345 or [email protected].
