Fabry-Perot laser diodes have use in spectroscopy

Dec. 9, 2024
488-nm Fabry-Perot laser diodes are based on aluminum indium nitride layers.

488-nm Fabry-Perot laser diodes (FP-LDs) are based on aluminum indium nitride (AlInN) layers and are suited for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and spectroscopy. Available as uncooled TO56 cans with free-space light output, they deliver continuous-wave (CW) optical power beyond 50 mW. A 14-pin butterfly (BTF) version with SMF or PMF output delivers 20- to 30-mW optical power.
