Sapphire lenses and windows are optically clear, chemically inert, and transmit from the UV to 4.7 µm. They can be coated for >99% transmission. They have Mohs 9 hardness and can be supplied as lenses or windows, flat and stepped, concave or convex, and round or square, with mounting holes and slots.
