Editor's note: Listen to our podcast interview with Cory Boone below, which we released on November 19, 2024.
As Edmund Optics’ lead technical marketing engineer, Cory Boone educates professionals across a vast range of industries as well as students and the general public on topics ranging from key considerations for laser systems and choosing the right imaging optics to understanding the optical specifications important for various applications.
His innovations and contributions to virtual events and Edmund's content creation process have helped elevate the technical credibility of the company and make optical concepts more accessible for professionals. Additionally, Cory volunteers for educational outreach events, authors papers for SPIE’s education and outreach conferences, and this year serves on the 2021 SPIE Education and Outreach Committee.
“[The Rising Stars award] means a lot to me that my work in educating people both inside and outside of the photonics industry about optics was recognized with this award,” he says. “So few people outside of the industry fully understand how much optics and photonics impact our lives. It is very validating to see that my work in educating people both inside and outside of the optics industry about optical concepts through technical marketing content is valued by a great publication like Laser Focus World.”
Cory holds a B.S. in Optical Sciences and Engineering from the University of Arizona.
