Salt fog silver coating offers high reflectivity from visible to infrared

Oct. 14, 2023
A salt fog silver coating has been developed for application to silver reflector optics used either in harsh marine salt-spray environments or for optics exposed to extreme temperatures from -62° to 80°C.

A salt fog silver coating has been developed for application to silver reflector optics used either in harsh marine salt-spray environments or for optics exposed to extreme temperatures from -62° to 80°C. Offering high reflectivity from visible to infrared wavelengths, it ensures that optics are better able to resist corrosion and mechanically induced damage.
