Zygo to supply optics for National Ignition Facility
Optical fabrication and metrology house Zygo Corp. (Middlefield, CT) has won a contract from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA) to build and equi¥a 35,500-sq ft facility to fabricate large plano optical components for the National Ignition Facility. Over the course of 18 months, the agreement could amount to $10 million; present funding is just more than $5.5 million, with future awards contingent on continuing congressional funding for the project. The actual optical-components production contract would have a value of approximately $15 million.
