Back-reflection testers

June 1, 1995
Two single-wavelength back reflection testers in the BRT-320A series measure optical return loss from fibers at 1310 nm or at 1550 nm. The models include rapidly stabilizing thermoelectrically cooled laser sources and low-drift GaAs photodetectors. The devices sense back reflection from 0 to -70 dB with 0.05-dB resolution and ۪.1-dB linearity.
