Semrock announced a supply agreement focused on educational institutions and government research labs in the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada.

Semrock (Rochester, NY) announced a supply agreement with AVR Optics (Rochester, NY) for the distribution of its optical filters and optical mirrors within the United States and Canada. AVR Optics was founded by a team with experience in the life sciences and analytical instrumentation markets and will be primarily focused on educational institutions and government research labs in the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada.

“We felt that this was a great opportunity for us to improve our customer service,” stated Mike Ransford, the general manager at Semrock. “As we continue to expand, we wanted to make sure that we could enhance the level of support that we are able to give to the university and research communities. Having a partner like AVR will be a great benefit to researchers, microscope end-users, engineers, and students. We think of AVR as a true extension of our factory.”

Customers will be able to order Semrock products and parts directly from AVR Optics, and all customers can still place orders on the Semrock website.
