Acquisition of AMF Optics expands Navitar's capabilities

Navitar has completed its purchase of Hyperion Development/AMF Optics, expanding its product offerings, design services, and manufacturing capabilities.

Navitar Industries, an affiliated company of Navitar, Inc. (Rochester, NY), has completed its purchase of Hyperion Development/AMF Optics, expanding its product offerings, optical and mechanical design services, manufacturing capabilities, and production capacity. Hyperion Development/AMF Optics co‐founders, Michael Thomas and Russ Hudyma, have joined the Navitar leadership team: Thomas as President of the Navitar family of companies and Hudyma as CTO.

AMF Optics is Navitar’s first ITAR registered and ISO 9000 certified facility. It provides high quality traditional diamond turned optical components and infrared lens assemblies. Now known as AMF Optics, A Navitar Company, it will continue to operate in Woburn, MA, and all personnel will be retained.

Jeremy Goldstein, co‐owner and CEO of Navitar says, “With this acquisition, Navitar’s capabilities and repertoire of optical solutions far surpasses that of many of our competitors.” Product offerings include OEM imaging lenses, ultra‐precision microscope objectives, custom projection lenses, cine prime lenses, laser scanning lenses, and UV/VIS/IR lens assemblies."
