Optical coatings market to reach $10.1 billion by 2016

Lexington, MA--A new report from BCC Research entitled Optical Coatings: Technologies and Global Markets says this market will reach $10.1 billion by 2016.

Lexington, MA--According to a new report from BCC Research entitled Optical Coatings: Technologies and Global Markets,the global market value of optical coatings reached $5.9 billion in 2010 and nearly $6.7 billion in 2011, and is expected to reach $10.1 billion by 2016 for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8%.

In addition, the consumer segment for optical coatings reached $3.0 billion in 2010 and will grow to $4.6 billion by 2016--a CAGR of 6.2%. And the commercial segment for optical coatings reached $2.9 billion in 2010 and is expected to grow to $5.5 billion by 2016 for a CAGR of 11.3%.

The new report also considers the potential new high margins coatings applicationsthat will emerge in the next five years, as well as comprehensive coatings company profiles.

The report covers coatings for the telecommunications, transportation, defense, photography, electronics, and medical markets, with information on product segments, various technology options, and current application markets as well as likely future opportunities, government regulations, with complete forecasts about the market over a five year period.
