Bookham Technology plc (Abingdon, England) is working with Marconi Communications to supply multichannel DWDM integrated optical components for use in Marconi's SmartPhotonix range of optical networking products. The ASOC optical channel monitor is designed for use in systems operating up to 40 channels. The function of the device is to manage data in the system real time, through monitoring the power carried by each wavelength.
