Illumination technology from Andor assists in multifocal confocal microscopy

Jan. 21, 2014
Borealis improves uniformity ~10 fold, increases throughput by a factor of two, and extends the excitation wavelength range to 400-750 nm.

Borealis is a patented illumination technology for multifocal confocal microscopy. The technology improves uniformity approximately tenfold, increases throughput by a factor of two, and extends the excitation wavelength range to 400-750 nm. It also improves image quality and allows faster acquisition where needed and deeper imaging of thick or scattering specimens.
