Optical coatings and filters maker Alluxa (Santa Rosa, CA) has received official International Traffic in Arms certification from the U.S. Department of State.
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) program, which is directed by the U.S. Department of State, regulates the import and export of U.S. military- and defense-related equipment and information. These regulations were designed principally to control the information and materials of defense-related technologies and to ensure that technologies are only shared with U.S. persons unless approval from the Department of State is received via a special exemption. Having received this certification, Alluxa confirms that it has the knowledge and understanding to fully comply with ITAR while having company procedures in place to ensure compliance.
Alluxa's optical coatings and optical filters for OEM applications use a proprietary advanced plasma deposition technology; the company will be exhibiting at the SPIE DSS show in Baltimore, MD, May 6-8, 2014.
