Edmund Optics begins accepting applications for its 2014 Educational Award

Edmund Optics (EO) is now accepting applications for the company's 2014 Educational Award.

Barrington, NJ--Edmund Optics (EO) is now accepting applications for the company's 2014 Educational Award. As described by EO, "This annual award acknowledges interesting projects involving optics that will have an impact on tomorrow's applications. In 2014, Edmund Optics will distribute 45 global awards in the form of products ranging in price from $500 to $10,000. Applicants must be from undergraduate and graduate programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at nonprofit colleges and universities working on such projects."

For five years, EO has conducted its Higher Education Grant Program; now, EO has combined its regional grant programs into one global Educational Award program. As in previous years, the EO Educational Award will recognize cutting-edge research around the globe, says EO. This year's program will include 15 awards per region -- the Americas, Europe, and Asia -- for 45 in total.

The 2014 Educational Award, kicked off at Photonics West, consists of Gold ($10,000 in products), Silver ($7,500 in products), and Bronze ($5,000 in products) awards plus 12 matching awards ($500 each in EO TECHSPEC products) in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Similar prizes in local currencies are awarded in each region.

Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2014 at www.edmundoptics.com/award or from the company's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/edmundoptics. EO Educational Awards will be announced on October 15, 2014.
