A line of very long wavelength infrared (VLWIR) filters provide transmittance over the 12 to 22 µm wavelength range. Using the company's physical vapor deposition (PVD) process, the coatings can be repeatedly cycled between ambient and cryogenic temperatures, without degradation, and are available in narrow and wide bandpass (NBP and WBP) filters, long- and shortwave pass (LWP and SWP) filters, and antireflection (AR) coatings.

PRESS RELEASE

Deposition Sciences Introduces Very Long Wavelength Infrared (VLWIR) Filters

Santa Rosa, CA – Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI®), manufacturer of highly durable thin film optical coatings, announces a new line of very long wavelength infrared (VLWIR) filters. The filters provide high transmittance over the 12-micron to beyond the 22-micron wavelength region. Utilizing DSI’s high precision physical vapor deposition (PVD) process, these robust coatings readily pass all environmental tests and can be repeatedly cycled between ambient and cryogenic temperatures, without degradation.

DSI’s line of very long wavelength IR optical coatings are available in narrow and wide bandpass (NBP and WBP) filters, long- and shortwave pass (LWP and SWP) filters, and antireflection (AR) coatings.

VLWIR Coatings can be applied to a variety of substrates, including germanium (Ge), zinc selenide (ZnSe), silicon (Si), and indium antimonide (InSb). Edge placement, transmission blocking ranges and levels, and operating temperatures and angles can all be customized per specifications.

Deposition Sciences’ VLWIR filters are ideal for remote sensing, chemical analysis, astrophysics/astronomy, and horizon sensors. For more information, please visit: www.depsci.com.

Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI) – Santa Rosa, CA – www.depsci.com - For over 25 years, Deposition Sciences has produced the most durable optical thin film filter coatings in the industry. DSI’s coating capability ranges from the ultraviolet (UV), through the visible and includes near-infrared (NIR), midwave-infrared (MWIR) and out to the longwave-infrared (LWIR). At the heart of these capabilities is DSI’s patented MicroDyn® reactive sputtering technology enabling superior multilayer thin film coatings for optics and other thin film technologies.
