Glass diode laser optics from LIMO have use in automotive lidar

April 29, 2019
One 300 mm glass wafer (12 × 12 in.) can make 25,000 FAC lenses with typical dimensions, as well as other acylindrical lens arrays.

One 300 mm glass wafer (12 × 12 in.) can make 25,000 FAC lenses with typical dimensions, as well as other acylindrical lens arrays. Used for lidar for autonomous driving and transport, communications, defined homogenous laser illumination for optical measurement, and machine vision, they operate in a temperature range of -40° to 105°C.
