CVI Technical Optics enhances European presence

April 19, 2006, Albuquerque, NM--CVI Technical Optics has acquired Quality Laser Optics Ltd (QLO; Ballasalla, Isle of Man), expanding its European manufacturing capacity by more than 25%.

April 19, 2006, Albuquerque, NM--CVI Technical Optics has acquired Quality Laser Optics Ltd (QLO; Ballasalla, Isle of Man). According to CVI, the deal will increase CVI Technical Optics' European manufacturing capacity by more than 25%, add new material processing capabilities such as phosphate disc polishing to the product mix, and provide improved flexibility to serve customers worldwide.

"We are combining two complementary companies to create a single trusted source for spherical lenses, cylindrical lenses, multi-element lenses, waveplates, polarizers, beamsplitters, filters, windows, large format optics, mounts, and opto-mechanical sub-assemblies, " said Helmut Kessler, general manager of CVI Technical Optics.

Serving semiconductor, biotech, industrial, commercial, aerospace and research industries, CVI combines 30 years of optics manufacturing expertise with precision machining and mechanical design to produce integrated opto-mechanical assemblies. CVI operates manufacturing facilities in New Mexico, California, the British Isles, and South Korea with
sales representatives and distributors located worldwide.
