Edmund Optics opened an office in Taichung City and appointed Johnson Chang to lead its Taiwan sales operations.

Barrington, NJ--Optical components provider Edmund Optics (EO) continues its expansion across Asia with the opening of an office in Taichung City and the appointment of Johnson Chang to lead its Taiwan Sales operations.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Johnson Chang to our Asia Sales team! This is an exciting time for us as we continue to see rapid growth in the demand for our optical components products across the region, especially in Taiwan," said Vincent Thong, director, Asia Sales. "Chang's knowledge and experience in vision integration systems and imaging lenses adds tremendous strength to our Asian team."

Chang joins EO after having worked in precision optics for over 12 years at one of Taiwan's most established lens manufacturing businesses. Chang's exceptional technical knowledge is underpinned by hands-on manufacturing and optical processes engineering experience, both fields in which he excelled in a supervisory capacity. This practical know-how enables Chang to interface with clients on their individual product development needs and work directly with their R&D teams from initial product feasibility studies, to eventual production and final integration.

In preparation and support of their Taiwan office EO recently launched a new website www.edmundoptics.com.tw, and produced a tailored edition of its catalogue containing over 22700 off-the-shelf optical components especially for the Taiwan market. EO also plans to hold a series of 'Vision Seminars' in Taipei in the summer of 2011.
