Santa Barbara Infrared to introduce ultra-black surface coating at SPIE Photonics West 2017

Jan. 20, 2017
The Vantablack ultra-black surface coating technology works in the ultraviolet (UV) to far-infrared (FIR) spectrum.

The Vantablack ultra-black surface coating technology improves infrared emissivity in the midwave-infrared (MWIR) and longwave-infrared (LWIR) spectral wavelengths, and works in the ultraviolet (UV) to far-infrared (FIR) spectrum. It employs a nanomaterial structure that absorbs virtually all incident light in space-borne imaging applications, among others.
