Acton Optics sensor coatings improve UV detection capabilities

Feb. 15, 2017
Metachrome and Unichrome UV-conversion coatings improve the ultraviolet detection capabilities of CCDs, CIDs, and CMOS sensors.

Metachrome and Unichrome UV-conversion coatings improve the ultraviolet detection capabilities of CCDs, CIDs, and CMOS sensors. The composite phosphor coatings extend performance in the UV down to 120 nm. Peak photonic emission of Metachrome occurs in the green-visible region, while Unichrome's peak emission is in the blue-visible range.
