BLG 80 Nd:Yb-doped phosphate laser glass features broad emission bands, and is intended as a cost-effective alternative to Ti:sapphire. It replaces mixed silicate-phosphate systems for high-powered lasers, and allows for novel new lasers with a more compact architecture.
