Double-sided polishing machine balances internal stresses within materials

Aug. 15, 2024
The PR Hoffman 5400 DSP double-sided polishing machine provides sub-second parallelism and fractional transmitted wavefront error.

The PR Hoffman 5400 DSP double-sided polishing machine provides sub-second parallelism and fractional transmitted wavefront error, for production of high-volume optics on substrates such as fused silica, BK-7, and other materials. It balances internal stresses within materials, minimizing the risks of warping or deformation on substrates up to 250 mm diameter. Parts are polished in days rather than weeks.
