A diode-pumped high-repetition-rate Nd:YAG laser is designed as an amplifier for increasing the effective power of material-processing lasers. The head can store u¥to 2 J of energy. The arrays are capable of u¥to a 15% duty cycle. The arrays double-side-pum¥a 6 ¥ 20-mm Nd:YAG slab that has a small-signal gain of 12 and can operate at repetition rates u¥to 200 Hz. The pum¥head is cooled by a recirculating water chiller.
