The Gecko series of compact polygon scanners have the motor polygon assembly mounted directly to the control board, which has been shrunk through use of application-specific ICs. High efficiency eliminates a bulky heat sink. These factors allow for polygon scanners 10–100 times faster than galvanometer scanners without the traditional bulk.
