MadPLL is a fully integrated instrument package that allows the user to create an inexpensive, high-resolution resonant scanning probe microscope. It can create an “instant” closed loop AFM/NSOM at a lower cost than commercial systems. Designed for research and teaching laboratories, the package includes a digital PLL controller, dedicated software, sensor amplifier board, and resonant probe mounting board.

MadPLL™ for “instant” AFM/NSOM instrumentation
MadPLL™ is a fully integrated instrument package that allows the user to create an inexpensive, high resolution resonant scanning probe microscope. In short, MadPLL™ can create an “instant” closed loop AFM/NSOM at a fraction of the cost of commercial systems.

MadPLL™ has been specifically designed for tuning forks and Akiyama probes and is fully compatible with Mad City Labs’ high resolution closed loop nanopositioning systems; making it easy for users to build a scanning probe microscope with a flexibility that cannot be achieved with other commercial systems.

MadPLL™ includes a digital PLL controller, dedicated software, sensor amplifier board and resonant probe mounting board. Our software includes automated features such as parasitic capacitance control, resonant frequency detection, and Q calculation. The integrated Z-axis PI control loop is fully compatible with our closed loop nanopositioning systems.
