Weld scanning system from Blackbird Robotersysteme detects errors in welding

July 26, 2017
A scanning system includes edge tracking and seam topology measurement based on optical coherence tomography (OCT).

A scanning system includes edge tracking and seam topology measurement based on optical coherence tomography (OCT) to analyze components to be welded and detect errors in welding. The measuring beam has its own scan system for positioning all around the processing point. It gets a detailed three-dimensional representation of the weld seam for quality assurance.
