PSI-TEC releases preliminary results from electro-optic plastics

June 17, 2005
June 17, 2005, Wilmington, DE--PSI-TEC Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of PSI-TEC Holdings, Inc. released preliminary data relating to its novel electro-optic plastics. These higher-performing, less expensive electro-optic plastics have the potential to broadly replace current high-end electro-optic materials that are the active core of the high-speed worldwide Internet, telephonic and satellite networks.

Two important precursory tests have recently been performed on PSI-TEC's newly developed electro-optic materials. Based upon computer simulations that were utilized during the engineering phase of development, PSI-TEC's materials performed as expected during both analytical procedures. Spectral analyses of PSI-TEC's materials indicate that a very low energy of light is required to cause fundamental electronic interactions within the molecular structure (commonly known as charge-transfer interactions). This phenomenon is understood to be a fundamental requirement of high performance electro-optic plastics.
