Montreal, Quebec, March 21, 2002 - Coreco Imaging has formed a new Intelligent Products Division (IPD), which will provide easy-to-use, pre-packaged machine vision products to end users. Headquartered in Billerica, MA, this wholly owned subsidiary of Coreco Imaging will serve the international market.

"Organizing our business units around the end user and OEM markets will enable us to be more responsive to rapidly changing industry conditions and to provide one-stop shopping to both groups of users," said Keith Reuben, President and CEO of Coreco Imaging. "And, as we expand our product line beyond our traditional OEM-focused offerings, we will position ourselves as a major player in the end user market, which represents a much larger potential user base."

"End users have traditionally shunned machine vision due to its complexity and lackluster performance," said Steve Geraghty, Vice President of Coreco Imaging and Director of IPD. "While great advances have been made in recent years to address end users' needs for simplicity and affordability, these benefits often come at the expense of flexibility and functionality. The mission of IPD is to provide robust and cost-effective machine vision solutions that combine intelligence with unprecedented ease of use."

IPD will leverage Coreco Imaging's expertise in frame grabber and machine vision technology to serve the end user market. A series of application-specific products that provide robust, user-friendly machine vision solutions to the factory floor are in development.

Unlike similar offerings in the market, these highly intelligent, targeted products can be deployed in a matter of minutes by users who have no expert knowledge of machine vision technology. With application logic and intelligence pre-installed, these devices can be conveniently configured through a standard Web browser interface.

In addition to new development, IPD will focus on enhancing and supporting related products in Coreco Imaging's existing portfolio. These products include Sherlock, a Windows-based, no-programming-required machine vision software environment, and NetSight, an industrial machine vision engine that combines converging PC technologies with standard, high-performance software interfaces.
