Goleta, CA, April 10, 2003. Indigo Systems has acquired the Applied Technology Division of Control Systems Research, Inc. The new division, Indigo Advanced Systems (IAS), will remain based in Florida. The core hardware and software engineers of the newly formed IAS division have developed innovative camera acquisition, calibration, processing and analysis software for high performance infrared cameras for over fifteen years.
Brian Cromwell, Director of IAS, noted, "Indigo's world class focal plane array manufacturing capability and IAS's camera application and radiometry experience make for an ideal marriage of technologies for the radiometric measurement community."
One of the products that transferred to Indigo under the acquisition is RTools. The RTools software suite was created to specifically address the rigorous requirements of scientists and researchers who need extremely accurate radiometric measurements of dynamic phenomenon in rapidly changing environments. Prior to this acquisition, the RTools software toolkit has been utilized for several years by various military ranges on Indigo Systems' IR cameras.
Jeff Frank, Indigo Systems' VP, Director of Business Development, noted, "The decision to purchase the (IAS) division comes at a pivotal time of growth for Indigo Systems and creates a unique and ideal partnering of IR sensor technology with software solutions for our family of infrared cameras and camera systems." He adds, "This purchase solidifies Indigo Systems' market position in delivering complete infrared camera solutions to the commercial, homeland security, and military arenas."
