PRESS RELEASE

Invisual E. Inc. is pleased to announce the introduction of the ICAM digital weld viewing and monitoring system as a tool for improving welding automation.

The ICAM system extends the operator's view of the weld zone by providing real time display and capture of the weld arc. Setup, remote guidance, inspection, process control and operator health and safety are prime rea¬sons for the ICAM in welding automation.

The ICAM system is more than just a weld viewing device. The camera is a standalone smart camera with rich I/O and an onboard programmable area for advanced functionality such as weld inspection or closed loop welding process control. Some of the feature set includes:
•Compliance with Protection standards DIN 3-7 gas welding Din 9-13 electro welding
•dynamic range > 140dB
•auto brightness and exposure adjustment
•no blooming effects or image artifacts in scene
•Stand-alone system with direct VGA connect, I/O connect
•Ethernet connect to network or PC
•Reticule overlay
•ICAM software to access system parameters

As a setup tool a few examples include, viewing the weld torch for pre-start weld position and measuring wire stick out length. As a run time and training tool, examples include viewing the arc, puddle, degree of weld spatter and position. Post welding examples include go / no go conditions for weld inspection. For customers requiring quality assurance, the ICAM records images and video to disk.

"With a brightness range of 4,000,000:1, achieving detailed views of the weld area has always been a challenge. Analog systems have been the go to systems for many years. Digital technology is here as the new standard and offers greater flexibility, quicker implementation and features beyond analog devices.", says Pierre Huot, president of Invisual E. Inc.

Invisual E. Inc has signed a partner agreement with the developer of ICAM, for the Americas region.
