May 31, 2006, Tucson, AZ--A new upgrade kit from 4D Technology refurbishes and enhances temporal phase-shifting interferometers no longer supported by their manufacturers. The upgrade, based on 4D's 4Sight software, provides these older systems with state-of-the-art wavefront analysis software and a path for future support. In addition to 4Sight, a standard upgrade kit includes a new high-speed, Windows XP based computer system, frame grabber, ADC board, and a PZT driver.

For users, 4Sight offers features including a user-friendly intuitive interface, customizable analysis and tests, 3D and graphical display capability, and the ability to cut and paste into other software programs. The PZT drive electronics enable years of trouble free service, and the latest computer system increases speed and provides for a standard network access. "Interferometer systems are too expensive to simply toss out when they become outdated," said John Hayes, president of 4D Technology. "For a relatively low cost we can bring existing hardware and software up to speed and become a support resource for system owners."
