Swept photonics analyzer uses optical frequency domain reflectometry

March 13, 2023
The SPA-100 swept photonics analyzer uses optical frequency domain reflectometry technology to analyze compact fiber-optic and photonic devices for insertion loss and return loss.

The SPA-100 swept photonics analyzer uses optical frequency domain reflectometry technology to analyze compact fiber-optic and photonic devices for insertion and return losses with >5 µm spatial resolution. Coherent detection technology performs transmissive wavelength-dependent loss measurement with a wide dynamic range >70 dB in a single scan, with no need to change optical power meter ranges. A proximity sensing function allows the fiber probe to sense the distance between the probe and the silicon wafer to facilitate the alignment process.
