A broadband light source is available for multiwavelength test and measurement of wavelength-division-multiplexing components within the 1310-nm fiber window. The Xolar light source delivers more than 1 mW of power with a 3-dB bandwidth of 45 nm and peak output at 1323 nm. The light source is based on amplified spontaneous emission in a solid-state gain waveguide.
