Market growth predicted for infrared imaging and thermometry
Uncooled infrared focal-plane arrays (FPAs) are expected to push infrared imaging and infrared thermometry markets in the United States to nearly $1.2 billion by 2002, according to a market-research report by Maxtech International (Valley Forge, PA). Dual-use and commercial off-the-shelf military applications are expected to grow at 15% each year, as the US Department of Defense (DoD) pursues cost savings by purchasing components used in both commercial and military applications. The shift in DoD purchasing patterns is expected to swell the FPA market by more than 60% annually. For more information contact Maxtech by e-mail at [email protected]
