Bovar buys Spectrum Diagnostix
Bovar (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) has purchased all shares of Spectrum Diagnostix (Andover, MA) for C$7.25 million. The purchase is part of Bovar`s initiative to broaden the technology and customer base of its Western Research process-control-analyzer division. Bovar Western Research designs, manufactures, sells, and services analyzers and systems for process and emission monitoring, control, and optimization. Spectrum Diagnostix manufactures tunable diode-laser systems for detecting and measuring gases. The acquisition will provide Spectrum a greater resource and facility base, allowing it to broaden its range of technology to include the measurement of more gases. Since 1995, systems with the Spectrum Diagnostix gas-measurement solid-state-laser technology have been installed at several locations, including an oil refinery and an aluminum-manufacturing facility.
